FLASHING LIGHTS AT MAXIM EVENTS

Author: MARLEAUX | Files under FASHION
The celebration in regards to the Maxim 2008 Hot 100 were floating all through Los Angeles this week. Folks on the Hot 100 list, Hot 100 veterans and hopefuls came out to celebrate. Check out who were flashing teeth in front of the flashing lights.

The Hills girls: Lauren Conrad was there looking Plain Jane as always. Audrina Patridge wore the first yellow Hervé Léger of the night. She wore it though.

Amerie wore the second yellow Hervé Léger of the night, this time in a one-strapped version. And look at Amanda Bynes looking all grown up, but still classy.

Elise Neal brought the grown and sexy in a lace sheath. But Tichina Arnold just brought the grown. Her makeup and hair looked good though.
Christina Milian looked cute in the second one-sleeved dress of the night. I wish Meagan Good would have been on the same page as Miss Milian, as Good is severely under dressed in high-waist cut off shorts and a tee. Are those Office Manager-like heels?
I liked Tila Tiquila’s look overall. It’s similar to what Donna Air wore on the SATC red carpet last week, but Air looked flawless. Not the same for Tila: she wore the same damn shoes was Good… Robin Antin’s look was so similar to Tiquila’s. If only she would have just raised that skirt 6 inches and put on a wide belt.
*sigh*… *sigh*… Between trampy hair, trampy makeup and a trampy nipple flash, I don’t know where to start. So I’ll stop here. Melony was so close to being the hotness in this photo, if only she would have looked down after she dressed…

SEX AND THE CITY PREMIERE

Author: MARLEAUX | Files under Red Carpet

The world premiere of Sex and the City movie went down yesterday in London. Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda hit the red carpet hand-and-hand decked out in the top names in fashion.

Sarah Jessica Parker wore a muted green Alexander McQueen dress. I didn’t love this dress from a far, but up close I fell in love. I’m not one that thinks SJP can do no wrong, but I’m loving this look from the forehead down. As for that bird’s nest she has perched on the top of her head, I’ll just chalk that up to some good ole SATC dramatic style. I just hope that a bird didn’t pope on her when the bird landed in that thing.

Kristin Davis was there looking prime and proper just as her SATC character, Charlotte. I like this Guy Laroche dress with it’s ruffle bottom and sheered top, but I wish it was more snug in the mid section. Overall a nice look, but for the SATC premiere, I thought it was a bit lacking. I’m over the Christian Louboutin chiffon shoes too.

Kim Catrall wore a Vivienne Westwood number that looked a little disassembled. I have a huge dislike for cowl neck tops, and this dress is looking very cowl-like. I don’t care for the sharp angled hem paired with the striping, but overall she looks nice.

Is it just me, or did Cynthia Nixon put on the wrong dress. This Calvin Klein number was meant for Kim Catrall. She doesn’t look comfortable. I can imagine that she had robotic like moves on the red carpet, hoping that she didn’t pull a “Tara”. And her boobs are looking all types of uneven.

If I had one phrase for the Sex and the City star style, it would be “age appropriate.” I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, but it seems like the youngins were trying to show them up.

Check out some hot styles from others who attended the premiere.

Kelly Rowland, Lisa Snowdon, Kristy Gallagher, Alex Curran and Donna Air.

And for the two young ladies that were advised to attend the Sex and the City premiere wearing over done and unoriginal Hervé Léger dresses, I would advise that you fire you’re stylist asap. I love the bandage dress, but something more stylish (see above) was in order for the SATC premiere. And I also see that Cynthia wasn’t the only one who looked uncomfortable.

2 FOR THE PRICE OF 1: ESTELLE, AISHA TYLER AND ALICIA KEYS…

Author: MARLEAUX | Files under Red Carpet, VIDEO

Lately the ladies have been hitting up the red carpet in droves. Some giving us the business, while others left us gaging. Luckily the fab chicks are working it double time, with wardrobe changes. Check out Estelle, Aisha Tyler and Alicia Keys giving us a double dose of flyness at a single event.

Singer Estelle rocked a black number for her red carpet arrival for her album release party for Shine. She then switched it with a strapless cocktail dress with circular embellishments.

Comedian and actress Aisha Tyler hosted the Life Magazine’s 10th Annual Young Hollywood Awards. She arrived wearing a dark green draped mini dress, showing miles of legs. She continued flaunting those legs in a yellow modern shift with ruffled front.

She arrived looking glam and casual in some fly heels. During her appearance on Letterman, she rocked a tight grey knee length turtleneck dress, proving that the Hervé Léger isn’t the only go-to sexy dress.

And check out Ms. Keys’ performance of her new single Teenage Love on Letterman.

Danity Does It Again/Wearable or Terrible.

Author: MARLEAUX | Files under Celebrities

I’m going to need this to stop. First it happened at the Welcome to the Dollhouse album signing at the Best Buy in New York. The culprits were Aubrey and Aundrea…

Then it happened again, in a more tragic manner at Danity Kane’s TRL appearance that same day. The culprits were again Aubrey and Aundrea, with the addition of Dawn…

And while we let them slide when those fugly chunky-dos made a back-to-back appearance on the same day, I have to put my foot down at the 3rd occurrence of this shoe. Actually 7th appearance in total, if you count the pics above. At least the shoes aren’t paired with bright white this time…

I’m going to need some one to burn these fugly shoes ASAP. It wouldn’t be so bad if almost every member of the group has worn the shoes within a week…

I don’t mind a Hervé Léger dress in each pic though. Love those dresses.

And check out Dawn’s shoes from the Welcome to the DollHouse release party.

You can find the Jenae Nubuck Lace-up Sandal from Bebe for only $129.00.

And speaking of chunky-dos, check out Kelly’s Rowland’s shoes at a recent Capital Records event.

I’m hoping she simply lost a bet and was forced to wear these shoes. This shoe behavior can’t continue.

Thandi Newton attended the premiere of Run, Fat Boy, Run wearing this lacey jumper by Temperly London.

I’m loving Thandi’s rendition of the outfit, as well as the recent red carpet appearances of jumpers and jumpsuits. But you all tell me, is this getup Wearble or Terrible?

Wearable or Terrible: White and Black

Author: MARLEAUX | Files under Celebrities
So I was watching Making the Band 4 the other night and watched as Diddy gave the girls of Danity Kane an America’s Next Top Model style makeover. Though I don’t expect him to share a crying session with the girls, as Tyra Banks has with her past contestants, but I have to say that his choices were on point. With that being said, check out Danity Kane on their latest visit to MTV’s TRL studio to promote their latest album Welcome To The Dollhouse.

Loving the Hervé Léger dress D
They actually have a cohesive look going on. Well, I guess it would be, with a wash of white across the screen. Still, they’re looking more like the fashion forward group that Diddy was hopping for and less like some chicks that won a $1,000.00 shopping spree from Forever 21 and wanted to wear every item they purchased at once.

Personally, I’ve never been a fan of the all white outfit when paired with black shoes. A pop of color or metallics for me.

The question I pose is white outfit with black shoes: Wearable or Terrible?

And look who pulled the same trick.

Taraji Henson at the Meet the Browns Premiere.

What’s the verdict?
